DMK means Dynasty of Mutuvel Karunanidhi

Many of my North Indian friends keep telling me DMK means Karunanidhi. He is in full control of the party. They refer to the YouTube videos in which party cadres refer to him as Leader (Thalaivar).  Even his kids (M.K.Stalin, M.K.Alagiri) refer to him as Thalaivar. I would have agreed this few years back.
